PhySoc's trip to CERN takes place from 24-27th March 2010. We will be staying in one of CERN's on-site hostels, which is a short bus ride from Geneva airport. A rough itinerary of the trip is as follows:
24/3
10:00 Check in at London Luton for EasyJet flight to Geneva.
12:00 Depart Luton.
14:45 (local) Arrive Geneva. Travel to CERN's Meyrin site, and check in to hostel. Head into Geneva to look for somewhere to eat.
25/3
Spend the day in Geneva; for suggestions of things to see and do, have a look at this tourist information site. As well as these tourist attractions, there are plenty of shops in Geneva for those who have a few hundred quid burning a hole in their pocket (Swiss watch, anyone?).
26/3
08:50 Turn up to CERN reception, Building 33, for the start of the tour. This includes the following:
09:00 Introductory talk by a CERN guide
09:45 Film about the LHC
10:00 Visit to an experimental site above ground (transport
  provided by the Visits Service)
12:00 Head over to the CERN cafeteria for lunch/food fights with particle physicists.
13:00 Spend the afternoon at Microcosm, CERN's hands-on museum thingy. Lots of cool exhibits of parts of the old SPS and LEP colliders, for historical interest.
27/3
08:30 Check in at Geneva for EasyJet flight to London Luton.
10:25 Depart Geneva.
11:10 (UK time) Arrive London Luton.
